Workshop Neck rope

Rope around the neck, holding by the neck and in its most extreme form strangulation is one of the most exciting activities for many people. However, it is also one of the most dangerous techniques if performed incorrectly. On Saturday we will look at safety and the basics of tying around the neck. On Sunday we will expand that knowledge for use in partial and full suspensions.

On Saturday we will introduce you to the basics of neck anatomy and safety. We will then use this knowledge to play safely with a rope around the neck. We will also learn basic Hojojutsu style patterns in the more comfortable and safe variants, but still restrictive forms adapted from the original hojojutsu patterns.

On Sunday we will expand our knowledge of tying around the neck. We will learn how to enhance almost any tying with a rope around the neck without compromising the safety of our partner. We will see how to use it to create interesting predicaments. Finally, we'll try a little edgeplay, but still with an emphasis on safety.
